In lieu of flowers and heart shaped candies with stuffed teddy bears for Valentine’s day, it’s time we propose a different option. A new sparkle and sizzle. Something that will make your eyes roll into the back of your head.
Yes, Bacon wrapped dates. The only sexy-sweet-and-salty treat that any woman and man would want. Well, at least I do. This year I specifically asked for nothing more than a card and bacon to make this delicious appetizer. I made these for the first time on Super Bowl Sunday a few weeks ago. I remember my husband being reluctant to try bacon wrapped dates, but once he took that first bite, he never doubted again. I made these for my in-laws this past weekend and it was a big hit. But then again, it’s bacon. Isn’t it always a hit?!
Without further ado, here is the simplest appetizer one could make for a loved one to show much they truly care this Valentine’s day.
